Maciej took the stage to present “From FNOL to Closure: Orchestrating Claims with AI Precision and Human Decision” - a session built around a single, practical question: what does it actually mean to move from processing claims to making decisions about them?
From Processing to Deciding
The session walked attendees through a live FNOL interaction, following a single claim across three distinct roles: the agent who captures, the AI that understands and reasons, and the adjuster who decides.
Rather than a high-level overview of AI in insurance, Maciej grounded the presentation in operational reality. How does real-time document validation change what the adjuster sees on the first screen? How does surfacing risk at FNOL - rather than a week later - affect both decision confidence and audit integrity? What changes when every claim decision is explainable, traceable, and ready for a DOI examination?
The core argument: speed without control creates risk, and processing without insight creates delay. The two problems are connected, and addressing only one produces diminishing returns.
Claims AI in Practice
The session drew directly on Decerto’s Claims AI - our end-to-end claims orchestration system that handles everything from document extraction and fraud scoring at FNOL to coverage verification and audit-ready decision trails.
Attendees saw how the system interprets documents in real time, validates them against policy data and external sources, and surfaces findings to the adjuster before a single manual lookup is needed. The adjuster’s role shifts from gathering information to acting on it.
“The question we hear from claims leaders isn’t whether AI works,” Maciej noted during the session. “It’s whether the system can be trusted, explained, and defended. That’s what explainability and audit integrity actually mean in practice.”
