Project: Simplifying the Insurance Sales Process for SMEs

Technology Partner: Decerto

Overview

For one of our clients, Warta, we carried out a comprehensive enhancement of their sales system. The main goal of the project was to simplify the process of purchasing insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while maintaining a high level of coverage.

As of May 21, new and updated insurance packages are available based on Warta’s two flagship products: Warta ExtraBusiness Plus and SmartBusiness. These packages now include a market-unique risk assessment mechanism that does not require agents to declare business activity codes (PKD). This innovative feature sets Warta apart from its competitors and significantly simplifies the process for both agents and customers.

Key system updates and features include:

  • Risk Assessment Without PKD
The system automatically pulls data from the national GUS database using the company's REGON number. Based on a configurable set of rules, it profiles the client and assesses risk, allowing agents to follow a simplified process without needing to manually enter PKD codes. The system classifies risks and incorporates them into the pricing model automatically.
  • New Package Selection Logic
The package selection process has been streamlined and tailored to the customer type. Agents can now use a “no PKD declaration” option, allowing for faster policy issuance. If the agent chooses to declare PKD, the system can tailor the insurance coverage more precisely.
  • Use of Higson
Leveraging the advanced Higson business rules engine, we introduced parameters that allow clients to automatically enable or disable the simplified offer and policy issuance mode. This rule engine has been significantly expanded, enabling more efficient implementation of changes and a quicker time-to-market. It dynamically supports agents in selecting the right insurance package.
  • Simplification and Reduced Formalities
Ongoing improvements aim to reduce the number of form fields and process steps, while making the product offer clearer and more targeted. Products will be increasingly tailored to the real needs of entrepreneurs, resulting in a faster and more intuitive contract process.
  • PKD 2025
The new 2025 PKD classification codes have been implemented alongside the existing 2007 version. The smooth transition between versions minimized the risk of errors.

Conclusion

These updates have significantly reduced service time, increased automation, and improved the user experience - for both agents and SME clients.
