InterRisk TU SA Vienna Insurance Group, one of Poland’s leading insurers, has launched IRON (InterRisk Online Network), a modern insurance sales platform built from the ground up in collaboration with technology partner Decerto. The initiative is a significant step in InterRisk’s digital transformation journey, aiming to boost agent productivity, simplify sales processes, and create a flexible foundation for future digital offerings.
IRON replaces the insurer’s previous sales system, iPortal, responding to rising market demands for speed, security, and user-friendly digital experiences. The platform’s architecture is based on microservices and Kubernetes, delivering high scalability and performance.
Decerto’s Higson Engine at the Core
A key pillar of IRON is Decerto’s proprietary Higson engine, which enables rapid configuration of insurance products without requiring IT intervention. Higson manages product dictionaries, premium calculations, data mapping across systems, and system parameters, empowering business users to quickly adapt offerings to market needs.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Intuitive User Interface: Designed with UX principles, IRON offers a minimalist, ergonomic experience for agents.
- Speed and Performance: Real-time premium calculations and variant comparisons enhance customer service efficiency.
- Automation: Features like automatic customer data retrieval and integrated offer dispatch streamline workflows.
- High Security Standards: Including two-factor authentication, fully compliant with DORA regulations.
- Flexibility: Business users can manage configurations independently, ensuring fast time-to-market for new products.
IRON’s initial rollout included the launch of the AUTO+ insurance package, with future plans to expand the platform to support home insurance products, an underwriting module, and renewals functionality.
“We’re proud to partner with InterRisk on this ambitious project,” said Aneta Gajek-Wiśniewska, Member of the Management Board at Decerto. “IRON is a great example of how modern technology and close business collaboration can transform sales processes, delivering real value to both agents and customers. With Higson at its core, InterRisk now has a flexible platform ready to adapt and grow with market needs.”
Collaboration with End Users
A standout feature of the project was close cooperation with InterRisk’s agents and sales managers. More than 170 intermediaries actively participated in workshops, prototyping sessions, and testing, ensuring IRON was tailored precisely to real user needs.
Voices from the Project
“The implementation of the IRON platform was one of the cornerstone initiatives of InterRisk’s digital transformation. Thanks to close cooperation with the Decerto team, we were able to develop a modern, flexible, and secure tool that genuinely supports our agents in their daily work and enables the quick presentation of offers tailored to customer needs. Decerto contributed not only with expert technological knowledge but also with a dedicated and agile approach, which resulted in the high quality of the final product,” said Monika Rączka, Project Manager, Project Management Department, InterRisk TU SA Vienna Insurance Group.
The IRON platform stands as a model for digital transformation in the insurance sector, combining advanced technology with a user-focused approach to deliver measurable business value.
